ECR Reassurance Survey

Results from a survey of early-career researchers in UK PPAN science.

This survey was circulated among early-career researchers working in Particle Physics, Astrophysics and Nuclear science (PPAN), including PhD students, postdoctoral researchers, and related early-career fellows. The questionnaire asked respondents about their career stage, research area, confidence in UK PPAN postdoctoral opportunities, confidence in building an academic career in the UK, perceptions of funding clarity, optimism about the future of UK PPAN science, reassurance following UKRI/STFC/DSIT announcements, and changes in career decisions since January 2026.

The survey collected answers from 457 different respondents.
